2017/18: Coleshill Town (Midland Football League Premier Division)

Welcome to what was scheduled to be the final Coventry Sphinx home match of the season. It's been a long old slog at times but the ups have outweighed the downs and some of the performances we've seen here have been right up there with the best in my time at the club.

2017/18: Haughmond (Midland Football League Premier Division)

Coventry Sphinx have been on the road for a few weeks, facing tough opposition with key players sitting out through suspension.

2017/18: AFC Wulfrunians (Midland Football League Premier Division)

Coventry Sphinx and the weather, eh? If it's not snow in spring it's supercharged April showers that destroy the schedule, and we've certainly had more than our fair share of both this season.

2017/18: Rugby Town / Boldmere St Michael's (Midland Football League Premier Division)

The winter weather has taken hold again of late, leaving our Coventry Sphinx side with a couple of unfortunate postponements here at Sphinx Drive. The match referee's last-minute decision to call off the game against Stourport Swifts was enormously frustrating. The Haughmond match never stood a chance.

2017/18: Stourport Swifts (Midland Football League Premier Division)

The winter weather means Coventry Sphinx have only played once since our last home match, but Knibbo and the players have started to rebuild the form that wobbled after the end of our long unbeaten run.

2017/18: Worcester City (Midland Football League Premier Division)

Supporting Coventry Sphinx can be a rollercoaster, and rarely more so than the last few weeks. We've gone from being unbeaten to being beaten heavily, then beaten twice, and then nearly beaten but ecstatic to rescue a point at the death on the road.

2017/18: Highgate United (Midland Football League Premier Division)

When the fixtures fly by thick and fast, it's easy to get swept up in the immediate moment and forget to take a step back and appreciate the season as a whole. For Coventry Sphinx, there's still a ton to play for each week. But it's worth acknowledging that our form since Lee Knibbs came in has been very enjoyable indeed.

2017/18: Westfields (Midland Football League Premier Division)

It's always disappointing to drop a game to the weather but last Saturday's postponement saved us all from a vile afternoon in a snowstorm, so for that we can be thankful. It also extended Coventry Sphinx's unbeaten league run by another week. Small mercies and all that.

2017/18: Stourport Swifts (Midland Football League Premier Division)

Coventry Sphinx's excellent run of form under Lee Knibbs continued here at Sphinx Drive last Saturday against Loughborough University. The team worked themselves into the ground in a tricky second half after a first 45 that should have seen them home and hosed.

2017/18: Loughborough University (Midland Football League Premier Division

Coventry Sphinx's festive period got underway in the best possible style and the results continued right up to the end of December. Lye Town are always a tough nut to crack, but the Sphinx weren't going to be denied a few weeks back despite going behind to a first half penalty.
