2017/18: Shawbury United (Midland Football League Premier Division)

Football is so often a results game and never more so than in a division as tight as ours. Coventry Sphinx have taken six points from two games and sit in the top six of the Midland Football League Premier Division, but teams in mid-table will us as within striking distance.

2017/18: Rocester (Midland Football League Premier Division)

There are some strange dynamics at play when a well-liked manager leaves a football club. From my point of view I have one job here and that is to support the team, and that's the end of it. I wish Stuart Dutton and Scott Furlong the very best of luck and thank them for some terrific experiences with Coventry Sphinx. There were many this season and last.

2017/18: South Normanton Athletic (Midland Football League Premier Division)

After the disappointment of our FA Vase exit it seemed that a slow start in the league against Heanor Town was something of a hangover. Heanor punished Coventry Sphinx's tardiness out of the blocks and took a 2-0 lead, but a change of shape after 20 minutes made a huge difference to the performance.
